I would not rely on the onboard audio card in the Mac.
Latency will be an issue.
The midi will work just fine.
To keep things as simple as possible, I would consider using a combined mixer/interface.
The Radial Key Largo will provide a mixer, DI and USB audio without adding complexity to your rig.
