Re: Expression Pedal Jumping Not Smooth
I have an EV5 and it is completely smooth. I really like it because it is so much smaller and lighter than some alternatives. I've been using it for years but had to change the pot once - it sounds like yours is dirty or worn. If you change it, make sure you get the correct one (obviously....) but it is log not linear, or the other way around. You'll figure it out

Re: Expression Pedal Jumping Not Smooth
Just purchased a DOD mini Expression Pedal to try. Have it connected to my NE5D. Had to play with the various pedal options to find one that worked smoothly, but found the Korg XVP10 is very linear from 0 to 100.
I've been using a Yamaha FC7 (I have two actually) which works well except I can't get it to register full scale (only runs from 37 to 100).
The DOD is nicely built, very small and switchable from TRS, TS and RTS. It doesn't have the travel of the FC7 and that may or may not be an issue (will have to play with it live to see).
I've included pictures for reference (Yamaha FC5 foot switch, Yamaha FC7 expression pedal, DOD Mini Expression)
I've been wanting to pare down the size of my pedals so I can put them on a pedal board. The DOD will fit very nicely on a standard guitar pedal frame allowing me to add a volume/expression pedal to my Alesis QS8.2
