Re: How to send program change but no note data
Thanks for spotting that. Sadly it didn't help with the fact that the E5 still is getting note data...

Re: How to send program change but no note data
Try Msb at 0 and Lsb at 0, I don't know the Electro but some of my synths need a bank change to consider the program change....

Try to switch off the Global channel on NS2, just to esclude channel/interface conflicts.
Besides: in which mode is your NE5 when you test it, Song or Program?

Re: How to send program change but no note data
The explained method of using Stage external section should work fine.
I am using it all the time to change combis of Nord Lead A1.

Re: How to send program change but no note data
Sorry if this has been covered but I can't find the solution. I would like to find a way of using my Roland FA06 & Nord Electro 5 where I can select a patch on one that also changes the other. I'm hoping that it can be done with using additional hardware? It looks to me that the FA has more editable midi parameters but I can't get it to change patches on the Nord, I have the Bank select BSB and LSB settings but had no joy. Would welcome any help

vibescribe: Maybe you will have more success if you post this to the Electro forum in it's own thread.
This thread has nothing to do with what you're trying to achieve, and is in the wrong section also. Besides, crosss-posting the same message (post119737.html#p119737) is not always appreciated So maybe you could empty your post above to refer to the other thread (or a new one if you're creating one).

Re: How to send program change but no note data
What version of code is on the NS3? There was an earlier bug that sent the program change message when the extern section was not enabled.
Make sure the Extern is set to Per Program not Global. Global should be disabled. The rest of your settings look fine. Then, ENABLE Extern so all the green zone lights are on. Confirm the PC works. then, do Shift Extern and turn off all the zone lights. Now it should send PC messages but no notes.

DJKeys: This is a 2 year old thread that was revived by an unrelated question... Maybe the OP has resolved his issuesDJKeys wrote:What version of code is on the NS3? There was an earlier bug that sent the program change message when the extern section was not enabled.
