“Store Program failed! Unknown error” message

Postby ajstan » 12 Nov 2017, 15:55

I’ll have to wait until tomorrow to contact my dealer, but until then, I was wondering if any of you had a problem saving new programs to empty program slots G31 and above. I got the following error message when I tried to save to G31:

NS3 88 v1.24

There is some weird stuff going on. If I try multiple times, the program will eventually save, but it will be gone after I power cycle the NS3. If I try to add two programs, one will be there after the power cycle but the other won’t. Once a program stays after a power cycle, I can edit it, or copy a different program to the slot with no issues. However, if I try to save to an empty program, one of the programs previously saved above G31 will disappear.

Seems like something is corrupted in the program section. Hope it's not a bad memory issue. Guess I’ll try a restore and see if that helps.

UPDATE: After the restore, I don’t get the error message anymore. G27, 28, 29 all saved correctly, I lost G30 after the first power cycle, but have had no problems since with G31 to G34. So, the restore was helpful in resolving.

I guess there could still be an underlying error and it would be good to know if there was some kind of test routine I could run to check the memory. I will update this post/thread if any new information is available.

Kind of curious did you hook up the Nord Sound Manager and see what it was showing during all of this, not that any of this is normal

Good idea, I should have done that. Would have been able to see if the saved programs showed up in the list in NSM. Hopefully there’s not a next time, but if there is, I'll give it a try.
