External synth module for Nord Stage.

Postby yosoychema » 07 Nov 2017, 12:44

Hi to every one, I have some doubts about what tipe of external module i need. I´mo dongo like dark ambient music and i want to add some sampler sounds to my Nord Stage 2 because i just only can use two sampler sounds at time in the Nord. Some people here in the forum advise me to add a external module, but i really need a module where i can load my wav sounds from my computer and then add to the nord stage as external, like this i can use much moore wav sampler sounds in my Stage. So which module you recomend me for it?

MrTobbe here talk me about the Waldorf Blofeld , an i like it a lot, but i don´t know if i can load my wavs samples in to it and to make a back up of it in my computer what i really need.

Thanks for your aswerings.

Check out this synth. Not mainstream, but very simple, and inexpensive!

Here is the link with information on how to order.

http://discourse.zynthian.org/t/zynthian-kits/150

Because it is an open-source box, they don't really have an ordering system. You have to send a message to "jofemodo" on the site and he will quote you a price with shipping.

As far as how much storage, because it runs on Raspbery Pi2, you should be able to use a micro SD card up to 64GB, which would give you around 50GB+ of free storage!

They do sell it as a fully assembled box. Look for the price for the "prebuilt" kits. They will send it to you ready to go!

Upon suggestion by this board, I tried hooking a 3.5mm to 3.5mm cable from my MacBook Pro headphone output to the monitor input on my Stage 3. Works great. I was worried the headphone output on the MacBook Pro wouldn't be able to handle the amount of data I use in Mainstage. While there were little ticks every now and then in practice, it was nothing you could notice with the full band. Our weekend performance went great. Now I have 8 more Mainstage channels/instruments that I use in my sound without taking up even one instrument on the extern panel; the sound just flows through the Stage 3.
