connecting E561 to its keyboard?

Postby Redfarfisa » 02 Nov 2017, 19:50

So, my Electro 5 61 had the velocity problem on one key (piano voices trigger way too loud). I take it apart and clean some grummy stuff off the contacts. But, when I put it together I realize there are 20 pins on each of the 2 cables that go from the E5 to the Fatar keyboard but only 16 receptacles in each of the 2 places these cables plug into - that means there's more than one way these cables can each attach to the keyboard. Anybody know exactly how these things attach? I tried one and it wasn't right... thanks!! I have an Electro 4 73 - does that use the same cables/connectors so I could see how its attached? Thanks!!!

There is a pdf in this thread which details opening and cleaning on a Stage EX that helped me when I had to go into my Electro 3 61. Maybe it's the same?

p.6 and 7 detail this... it looks like the right side lines up, and indeed this is the same for my E3.

Got it - mine went to the opposite side but it's working great now! Thanks again!
