Hey,
I wan't to connect my Drum 3p to a sampler (or laptop) via MIDI and control 6 different sounds with the 6 different Nord 3P Channels, individually. But ofc I got stuck... does anybody know If I can do that? If so, how !?!
If not? Why not? We are in 2017 for god's sake ...
Thanks.

Re: Using Nord 3p as a Midi Controller
You can't, NP cannot transmit on 6 different channels, only on 1 (see manual)
You can still use it as a single channel controller then you can use a PC/Mac to manage any further multi-channel MIDI routing

Re: Using Nord 3p as a Midi Controller
Hi Radup,
The Nord drum 3P outputs a different MIDI note for each of the 6 pads on the general MIDI channel. You can set the 6 notes and the general MIDI channel in the MIDI menu. You should be able to control 6 different samples on your sampler/laptop, make sure you select the same MIDI channel and couple the samples to the MIDI notes that the 3P sends.
Maxpiano is right that the 3P doesn't send MIDI on 6 MIDI channels at the same time. The 3P only sends from the general MIDI channel. You can set a MIDI channel per drum sound, but these 'individual MIDI channels' can only be used to control parameters of the 6 different sounds of the 3P individually, with eg an external contollers or sequencer.
Cheers,
Albert

Re: Using Nord 3p as a Midi Controller
Not to hi-jack the thread, but I have a similar question. I have an Alesis Sample Rack that I use some for "stomps, claps, etc". In the past I've had to have seperate trigger pads, but I recently purchased the Nord 3P. I would like to use it as the controller for the Sampler when needed. Then be able to switch back to the Nords built-in sounds on the fly. Has anyone tried anything similar? Thanks in advance.

Re: Using Nord 3p as a Midi Controller
Hi drum101,
No experience, just some tips..
Perhaps you can find a stereo channel selector or switch pedal. A volume pedal may be easier to find.
You can also make one or more silent programs on the 3p, with the channel levels all the way down the 3p will be quiet and you will only hear the alesis.
Cheers,
Albert
