If I plug in my headphones and max out main volume, piano volume and the headphones volume with any of the grand piano, upright, harpsicord or clavinet modes I blow my eardrums out, however if I do the same with E Piano1 or 2 I can barely hear sound being made. The only way to get usable sound with any of the E piano modes is to turn on reverb because while Epiano sounds are low the reverb of those sounds has normal volume.

The only things I have plugged in are a triple pedal and my headphones and everything installed on the NP2 is factory standard.

Sounds like a phase or mono summation issue. Check your headphone adapter - if it is a cheaply made 1/4" to 1/8" that may be the culprit.

Is there anything else in your signal path that may be (incorrectly) converting stereo to mono? Do you have a stereo amp /sound system you can test with speakers, to confirm it is just your headphone output that is problematic?

Normally the ePiano levels should be right up there with the other pianos.

If all of this checks out maybe try re-downloading the ePianos from Nord.

The adaptor was the issue. Removed it to try another setup and when I put it back in everything worked. I never considered it because it worked well with the other modes. Thanks a lot

Headphone adapters have been the cause of many a problem reported on this board. Best thing is to buy a pair with a 1/4" jack. They are increasingly hard to find, so maybe Nord needs to offer an 1/8 input. Of course, XLR outs would be nice too...

I'm responding to this for emphasis. I had my Stage 3 for a year before trying to use the headphone out jack today. My headphones have a ⅛ trs plug and I used an old ¼ to ⅛ adapter that was working OK in other applications, causing the strange reduction in volume of certain sounds - the EPs and a group of synth woodwind sounds as well were affected. I replaced the old adapter with a different, apparently better one and the problem disappeared. Weird! Belated thanks to dhbp-nord for the fix!
