Amber Upright is too soft. I like Black Upright for blues-rock.

Really? Black Upright? What are your EQ-Settings?

Using the following parameters for the AmberUpright, it doesn't sound soft and gives me the sufficient assertiveness in my cover-band:
BASS 15,0
FREQ 6,0
GAIN 15,0
TREBLE 8,0

What's the prize?

Actually, there's no right or wrong answer because it depends on the room in which you are playing and the sound system you use. For me, I prefer the Silver Grand, flat EQ, played in stereo through my two Bose L1 Compacts. It cuts right through the mix, even with annoyingly, loud guitars, which is the norm (unfortunately).

the prize is the competition!

a few weeks ago, I had the Bose L1 for a gig, too - great sound and indeed: No EQ neccessary!

for a long time I used the silver grand, too, because it is strong enough. But I think, the uprights sound very dirty.

But thanks for your hint:
our current band-equipment is 1 EV ELX 118P and 2 EV ZLX 15P from EVoice and the sound is very transparent.
So I will try to "use" flat EQ

Everyone with no EQ?
How do you realize the assertiveness in the band-context?
Maximum Volume at the Nord and Increasing Gain at the Mixer?

It's me again. I tested the hint of criss!
Thank you so much!
Today I played all piano-voices without any EQ - only increasing the volume a Little bit.
And ...... it sounds wonderful - much better, than my EQ-Settings.
Now I have to test, whether the sounds can be heard in the band-context!
