Hello
Is there anything like a Memphis Horns-type brass sound available to the NE 3 ?
The only one I have is pretty thin.....Don't think I've seen any in the library that have any punch to them.
Any comments welcome.....and thx !

Re: Brass sounds for NE 3
Sax in my primary instrument. In general, it is difficult to get good horn sounds from any keyboard, because it is difficult to duplicate the attack element of a horn player starting to blow a note. You have a better chance of achieving results that don't sound cheesy if you can combine the sounds that come from your keyboard with some real horns. You also might have better luck finding suitable programs for your Nord Stage than for your Nord Electro. Some keyboard players who play in a band without any horns say it is better to just play some organ sounds when trying to cover a song that features horns, to avoid the cheese factor.

I ended up picking up a Yamaha MX49. It has the Motif brass set, which is really pretty good. It is <$500 and is a very nice compliment to any of the Nords.

Hi, I'm looking for a electro Brass sound as this video at 2.46 min.
It's very important for me and my funky group.

Sounds like Synth Brass too me using Joystick. Check out the Nord library for samples and I am sure you can find something. Sounds close to Uptown funk synth.

I used a Casio WK-3000 home keyboard for the horns on this song - a preset called SFZ Brass. I think it sounds pretty good.

Just a question, is the Motif brass set is famous? Better anyway than some sounds from the Nord or the Roland XV5080? Just let me know if you have an opinion...
