Yes, the uprights are nice, as are the electric grands.

As I mentioned over on KC, the ONE THING that could goad me into a Stage 3 (and its 2GB of piano memory) would be the ability to have 10-12 XL voices at my disposal at once. Or maybe EVERY SAMPLE that Nord has published EVER.

The only thing holding me back is that -- before long -- Nord will come out with a 4GB board.

I expect as Nord memory increases so will the size of the XL pianos, over time.

@Cphollis qnd dhbp-nord: +1 on that. I was just thinking: "I have the Stage 2 which is 512 Mb right? And let me keep only one XL, the Inperial and one L, the Fazzioli....because I have all E.Piano loaded. So, Stage 2 EX in 1Gb and Stage 3 is 2 Gb.
Does it means I could Load 4 more Grant/Upright Piano....Which will be a total of 8 Pianos ?" Your thoughts?

I would think yes, it's just math :-)

Nord Sound Manager always displays free memory so you can add one at a time and watch the total go up.

I keep a local copy of all Nord libraries on my 2 music PCs, just added the Amber last night.

Anybody knows if it's a significant difference between the Grand Upright XL and the Lrg versions (for solo playing)? It worth the extra 75 Mb?

I managed to bring back the Grand Upright L (by deleting the Saloon and lowering the Honk) and I like it (I think my ear has "changed" with all these tests) but upgrading it to XL requires more space (Italian from XL to L)...

L to XL is always a "significant" difference, because they sample more notes (instead of stretching samples from adjacent notes). It will sound different. Whether it creates something that sounds "75 mb better" to you is something only you can determine.

So, let's say, 8 Grand/Upright Acoustic Piano on the Stqge 3 compact, plus 2 already in my Stage 2, yes, I might be close to Cphollis requirements, 10 A. Pianos....Ok in TWO boards...Yeah, maybe I will wait for the Stage 4 in 5/6 years, with a 4 Gb memory for Piano....
