one thing doesn't exclude the other, considering that
adding the off option to the next s2 os update would only take minutes to nord .

staffan told me they would look into it but they're currently dedicating themselves to the s3.

in fact it would be really helpful if people ontacted nord about it too, it would only make it more likely to happen :)

actually, getting rid of the key click is very difficult. Laurence Hammond tried this unsuccessfully.
The problem is that the waveform gets gated in at a random position in its cycle. If it happens to be at peak magnitude, there will be an audible transient, less so near the zero crossings.
And I was worried - all the way down to the ground

I suppose you're referring to the real hammond. I believe achieving this on the simulated Nord hammond would be much much simpler: the nord stage 2ex already has a global option to vary the key-clicks volume, options being high medium low, I assume adding an additional off option would be super-simple

well, yes and no. Gating in a sine wave at a random phase clicks even with an ideal switch, and non-ideal ones (bouncy and with drawbars staggered in time) are even noisier. One could overcome the problem with a synth-style envelope generator but I doubt the switch model has that capability. For 61 keys and 9 contacts per key it would be quite DSP-intensive...
