Is the only way to do this the global transpose? That requires a few more moves. I'm used to transposing on my NE2 and changing programs mid-tune so, for instance, I'd be comping on organ than punch up my wah clav for a funky solo.
On my new NE5D, it turns out I can't do that so easily. I played the NE5 for the first time at the weekly jam last night, and tried the same move only to discover that when I switched to clav, it wasn't transposed. I got home and checked this forum and some other places to find out that I have to go into the system, scroll to transpose, then set that to the transposition I want. This is extra moves for what used to be a quick flick and I was soloing on a different patch while staying transposed. I appreciate that I can now save transposed programs but I really don't want to do that. I want to be able to transpose at the start of the song, then change programs as many times as I want and have the transposition hold throughout. Then as soon as the tune is over I want to quickly "untranspose" as the next song is in C (or whatever). I guess I have to go into the system and do global transpose before each song if I want to do what I used to do quickly on my trusty old NE2.

Hello
You managed to find a solution.?
I have the same dilemma with NS2.

On NS2 you have both Global Transpose and per Program transpose (saved with each Program) so you should have no issue (you can save the same Program multiple times with different preset transpositions, for example)

Re: transpose, then change programs mid-tune
Transposition functions are the only real objection I had to buying any Nord product. I like what Yamaha does - they put the button on top of the board!! It's not buried in a menu somewhere. For corn sake, Nord gave us dedicated buttons for everything else, why not Transposition??!! It's as though they really don't care about the semi-pro or purely amateur guys who need transposition sometimes. A Global Transpose button placed right under our noses would be SO handy ! Even an assignable button would work. That change would only be at the OS level.

Agreed Quai34. You may as well ask a Cessna, single engine pilot to fly an A380 Airbus by saying, "Just fly the darn plane!" Easier said than done . The principles are the same but...

I use a Roland J50 for my other board ; another easy one to transpose.
