Electro 4 and MIDI controller question

Postby Henduck » 28 Apr 2017, 05:39

Hello! :)
I recently acquired a used Nord Electro 4 and I love the sounds and the software.
Although, since I have some pretty technically challenging parts to play and record I’d like to play the Nord Electro sounds on another keyboard/controller ( in this case a Kurzweil PC2x) which has a and weighted keys and a better overall action.
Is it something possible to do ?
How do I do that ? What kind of MIDI configuration should I set up? ( I noticed the Eletro doesn’t come with MIDI thru, is that a problem?)
Thanks in advance!

That's a really simple use of MIDI. You can probably do what you want simply by connecting a MIDI cable from the Kurzweil's MIDI OUT to the Nord's MIDI IN. There's a good chance that no additional configuration will be required on either board. Try that first. If it doesn't work, come back for more...

I have used an external M-Audio MIDI controller with my Electro 3 73. I used a traditional MIDI cable, and did not have to do anything special. I just connected the MIDI cable from the MIDI out on my M-Audio, to the MIDI in on my Electro 3, and it worked.
