During practice today, my Nord Piano 3 simply stopped working. Upon reboot, the screen is blank and all 200 programs are missing. When I turn it on, the OS loads as normal but I hear a "click" at the very end and the screen is blank. I can access piano samples but I can't access synth samples....I can turn the synth section on but all I hear is faint noise when I try to play a synth sample....it's like everything is gone.

Any thoughts?

When I try to to a restore, the MAC says "error reading zip local header"

Try to download a new fresh copy of the Factory restore from http://www.nordkeyboards.com/downloads/ ... rd-piano-3 and mind that it "Requires Nord Sound Manager v6.86 or newer." (so ensure you also have the latest version of NSM)

I've done that....all good.

But why did my Nord crash in the first place? Bad RAM? Bad chip?

No idea, but if it happens again you'd better contact the Nord service.
