Rotary Slow/Stop toggle w/ footswitch

Postby samuelblupowitz » 13 Apr 2017, 17:22

Hey all,

I always have a footswitch rigged up to change my Leslie sim speed on my Electro 4D, since I'm often playing organ with one hand and other keyboards with the other. I was wondering if anyone has had success with a two- or three-button footswitch to also toggle between "slow" and "stop" mode in addition to "fast" and "slow/stop." Back when I played in a band that owned a Motion Sound rotary speaker, the amp's two-button footswitch could toggle those modes, but I'm not sure if the internal sim on the Electro would know to accept that parameter change from a pedal plugged into the Rotary input or not.

Thoughts are much appreciated! Thanks.

I don't think the NE4 is capable of that through its own switch connections but if you have the right keyboard MIDI'd to the NE4, you can have it send a message on CC 79 (the CC # for "Stop" on the NE4) from a footswitch connected to the other keyboard. I see you have the Casio PX...is it the 5S? I do and I am pretty sure I could set it up to do this.

My Casio is the PX3; I could definitely look into that MIDI. I haven't been using it on gigs as much lately but I was planning on busting it out tonight, so maybe I'll see what I can work out. Of course, I could always just suck it up and toggle slow/stop with the button like I've been doing...

Do you know if any of the aftermarket half-moon switches (or the one for the C2D) work with the NE4?

I think that should work. The half moon switch can do it too. Have you tried to use two switches using an insert cable?
