"Show Must Go On"

Postby Goodnight » 24 Jul 2012, 14:32

Hi folks,
in a few weeks my band and me are going to record some covers of rocksongs in the studio. Live I am using sounds which are similar but not exact like in the originals - for the recording it would be nice to have some more suitable ones.
Therefore I am looking for the String- and Synthsound of "Show must of on" by Queen. Would be great if somebody could help me...
Thanks a lot!

(I've got a NE 3)

Hello

Here is a Nord sample of the Korg M1 patch that they used.
Put Rel 2, reverb and some EQ on it.

Nice one. You're shure they played a M1?? I read somewhere Brian May played a DX7 on that tune, but was indeed surprised what strings he supposedly got from that quasi FM Synth. Might make sense then with the Korg.

Thank you very much for the support: the stringsound fits perfectly! Do you have also one for the "My soul is painted like a..."-Part? Would be awesome!

What I heard they used Korg M1 Compi patch Orchestra 1, and that's what I sampled. For " the soul..." I have programed the patch with Phase 1+2 at 2 (off) and then press "on" when it comes to that part.

Good Luck

Hi Guy,
I make "The Show must go on" program with my NS2 ;-)
No M1 patch, No DX7 patch...
Only NS2's Factory Library with tweaks.

Slot A: SynthPad 1
Slot B: 16 Violins M400 Mellotron with Phase 1 for the bridge

You can Layered this 2 patches with Slot B controlled with expression pedal or modwheel

Enjoy!!
