Hi, this is probably a general midi question. I have set up my set list in my 5D and I would like to co-ordinate the sounds in my A1 to change as I change the set list . So far so good... However, I don't then want everything that I play on the 5D to play on the A1, rather I want it to have the right sound available for me to play it separately as needed during the song.
as yet, I don't seem to be able to get this right, the A1 either plays the notes from the 5D or fails to change program as I change the set list.
Anyone got any pointers?
Thanks for any help.

Re: Use 5D to control A1 presets
I am afraid you cannot do what you are looking for with the NE5D, because it sends ProgramChange and Notes on the same (Global) MIDI Channel. That's what the Nord Stage with its Extern section can do instead (send PC only but not the Notes)

Turn midi note received off on the A1?Then set the program change.
Please check out my electronic track idea in the music and keyboard rig forum.

Nice, but... how? Which A1 menu settings would be required for that?
(I don't have an A1 so I am sincerly asking as I couldn't spot such a setting in the manual)

Re: Use 5D to control A1 presets
Hi thanks for your input. I can't find that on the A1. It does seem a bit of an over sight not to be able to control the program changes. Unfortunately the Stage 2 is a tad pricey.
