Hey!

Does anyone know of a suitable control system for the 5D which can be used to switch banks/presets via foot and possibly some other features like a control pedal

Something like the Moog Multi Pedal thing http://cdn.mos.musicradar.com/images/Future%20Music/Issue%20211/moog/moog-mp201pedal1-970-80.jpg (maybe that works with the nord?)

This has been asked many times and people posted various possible solutions. You can search the forum for "program change pedal".

I did search the forum before but I didn't find anything useful.

Either new stuff seems to be coming out all the time so just curious if anyone has discovered something new.

Over time I've taken to searching "midi foot pedal" every couple years to see whether anything new might be out there. It's been a while since I've done that search, but last time around was the first in a long time where there were promising units out there, but they were REALLY expensive. Like over US$1k! Lake Butler Mitigator is a really great unit and can probably be had very cheaply on ebay (if at all), but there's no computer interface for programming. Very easy to program from the front panel and is organized very similar to Nord's Setlist feature with five switches per song.

While I haven't used it, the ~$300 Yamaha MFC10 MIDI Foot Controller looks interesting:

• ten programmable footswitches capable of sending program/bank changes, control changes, note on/off, and several other MIDI messages
• one continuous foot controller
• jacks for up to four external footswitches and/or continuous foot controllers*
• LED displays indicating the current function of each built-in footswitch

* So I'm now oddly tempted to hook three of these up to a dozen FC7s so I can play Animoog with an octave of poly-aftertouch pedals.
