Does anyone know if the Nord Lead A 1 will load sounds from other synths like the Nord 2 or 3 or 4 etc etc

Correct as Marlowes write.
But maybe worth to mention to those new to Nord - A "sound" in the form as a "sound sample" could be played on the Stage, Electro, Piano and the synth Nord Wave (that is currently not in production) - but your lead A1 can not play samples, it can only load small preset files around 500 bytes each that tells the synth how to adjust all the parameters(knobs) available on that particular machine.
If you spend time on your Lead A1 - it can produce lots of interesting sounds.

A minor exception are the Lead 2 and 2X, that being essentially the same instrument are fully compatibile, you can freely exchange patches between them.
The other Leads all have different architecture and different sound engines and cannot load each other's programs, sorry!
