Hi
Can somebody help me how to create a snap/click, the same as in the beginning of Under Pressure by Bowie/Queen.
I can´t find something in the Bank of the Nord drum P3.
Best regards
Per

Re: creating a "snap your fingers" on Nord Drum P3
Hi Per,
I think that's quite a challenge, It's easier to snap your fingers yourself than to try mimic it with the Nord drum. If you're in a band, some band members should be able to join in..
If I snap my fingers I first hear my finger sliding agains my thumb, then the sound of my finger hitting the base of my thumb which has sort of a high pitched sound + a sharp click.
I don't think you can include the the sliding-of-the-finger sound with the Nord drum.
To get the high pithed, almost claves like sound, I'd try to sculpt noise with the noise filter and EQ, filter resonance might help to get a tone. Use a short decay, experiment which type works best. When you have the main part of the sound right, try different types of click. If that all worked out ok, add a very short single delay perhaps, to add one virtual hand. Then copy the sound to a second channel, perhaps make the copy slightly different, to a second virtual finger snapping person.
Not sure if it will work, if not, and real finger snapping isn't an option, perhaps try something completely different, be creative.
Good luck!
Albert

Hey Per,
Mix this:
CLICK TYPE P (Short pulses) with level around 40 + Noise w/ Short decay + WAVE H1 w/ Short decay. EQ it and put some Reverb in your DAW.
Not exactly the Bowie/Queen, but works for me.

Thank`s for Your answers.
I will try to play with both options and see what works best.
