Which headphones do you use

Postby Krouch » 14 Nov 2016, 22:32

Hey togehter,

My old Sennheiser HD201 headphones are EOL :-(. Now I´m searching for new headphones for using at my Nord Stage 2 ex and my Yamaha Clavinova. The shouln´t be more expensive than 100€.
Has someone a tip? Which headphones do you use?

Regards,
Thomas

HD598 only at home because they're open. Nord sounds amazing through it and they are very comfortable.

Sennheiser HD280 is my favorite "reference" headphone in the ~$100 range (so a bit below your 100 GBP budget). This changes if you want open-back, although there aren't as many good open-back options in that price range.
Electro 5D 61, Korg Kronos 88, Yamaha P120, and some guitars, basses, and drums

One thing I found out. Don't try and use bluetooth headphones. The delay is quite annoying while playing.
Keyboards:
  • NS2 EX Compact 73
  • Hammond SK2
  • Roland VCombo VR-09
  • Alesis VI61

Indeed wireless consumer gear (bluetooth) is not advisable for serious music making.

As for the headpohone OT: Check also out this thread nord-electro-forum-f9/good-headphones-for-nord-electro-3-t339.html
