could you recommend small economic active speakers

Postby varignet » 27 Nov 2016, 22:37

Hi, I'm looking for a pair of economic active studio monitors or speakers for near positioning and ideal for low volume playing, ideally for piano playing and occasional mixing tracks.

ideally small and cheap.

can you recommend anything?

what about these ones?

Hej!

Cheap active speakers and piano-ish sounds like a difficult combination. :?
I bought some not expensive active stage monitors from Behringer. Not so good with piano sounds (ie NS2).

Now I'm using near field studio monitors from Alesis and Behringer. A bit more expensive. But OK result.

IMHO.

I like my Yamaha HS-7 (guess you easily find them on the second hand Internet market in the UK)

yamaha hs7 sound great except they're a tad too large/bulky for my setup.
presonus eris e5 are at the top of my small list followed by the hs7 or worst case scenario sennheiser hd598 instead.

p.s. as far as cables go would it be better to connect unbalanced outputs to balanced inputs using quarter-inch or xlr connectors?
