actually, the correct answer to that is no. the mechanicals are the same; the differences are lack of AT and different sets of PCBs installed with three contacts per not instead of two.

Re: what keybed do NP3 use? TP40 what?
... which makes the behavior as a piano action quite different, despite otherwise identical mechanics, I would expect.
I haven't played the NP3 yet, so take the above with a grain of salt, but I followed a similar change from Kawai's RH3 (two sensors) to RH3-II (three sensors), and the change was quite noticeable.

Re: what keybed do NP3 use? TP40 what?
Frankly, I can see no reason why this contact change would make the actual mechanical aspect feel any different, but when the actual velocity response is figured into the total equation, it is truly a whole different thing. Speaking personally, I don't believe that my touch is sufficiently refined to fully appreciate the difference, but I have been listening to my good friend and spectacularly gifted pianist complain for years about the Nord HA88 keybed. He hates, hates, hates it, both on NS2 and on NP2 and can't stop crying about it. I've given him a crack at my new NP3 and he speaks very highly of it. So much so, in fact, that I haven't been able to get my NP3 back from him -- he's not letting it go (gonna have to call the police pretty soon!).

Hi
The rumors says that it s a fatar tp40 but with a few accommodations made by Nord.
As they don't communicate more than that on it, nobody knows if it is real or not. Mysterious...
That is what makes such posts on forums
Cheers
