Hi All,
New to the nord family of instruments. How well does the wave play piano, organ, and rhodes sounds? Do you have to import them via the library our are they dedicated presets already?
Also, can you use a sustain pedal with the wave?

Re: Nord Wave: Piano, Organ, Rhodes
Hi dyktay, andwelcome to this forum.
The Wave is a synth. It was not designed for the purpose of producing piano, organ or rhodes sounds. It does possess Nord's signature organ models and is not capable of loading any of the sounds from Nord's v5 Piano Library. It CAN load samples from the Nord Sample Library.
Yes, it is possible to use a sustain pedal with that instrument. You may find it useful to download a copy of the manual from the Nord website.
Bless, Pablo

Hi, yes it's possible but the sounds are not really easy to use with that kind of keyboard...

Re: Nord Wave: Piano, Organ, Rhodes
Hi, I can understand your question and sometimes in gigs we need some good sounds of acoustic instruments.
Fortunately, the Wave has finely tuned preset programs for acoustic and electric piano as well as good church organ.
I think the tone wheel organ's sound is one of the weakness of Wave, and as for the Hammond sound, some discuss were there in this site, such as:

I hope it could help you.

Thanks KnobTanaka!
Are the presets for rhodes, piano, and organ pretty good?

Re: Nord Wave: Piano, Organ, Rhodes
Hi dyltay,
As Pablo mentioned, Nord Wave is a synthesizer which is essentially different from stage pianos. The synthesizer is the platform where we can create original sounds by ourselves.
Basically, the synthesizer is not skillful at creating real accoustic sounds, but the Wave is a great instrument having good accoustic and electric piano and church organ sounds in preset that are very useful for the stage performances.
However, these sounds are inferior to nord piano library in sound quality and its variety.
The nord piano library is excellent accoustic sound package of vintages which are nearly true piano, electric piano sounds.
If you place a top priority on the quality of piano or electric piano sounds, I recommend you to consider other nord series such as Nord Piano or Electro which accommodate piano library.
I have Wave and classical EX and I love this combination.
