What price for Nord Stage 2 HA76

Postby Heatman » 13 Sep 2016, 19:29

Hi,

I've had a Nord Stage 2 HA76 from new for 18months now and I'm struggling to get to grips with the complexity. I'm wanting to go back to a Yamaha and want to know what would be a good price to ask for it, before a advertise it......bearing in mind I paid £2600 for it new.

Many thanks

Marty

A quick look on Gumtree in the UK suggests others are asking for £1800 but it is a discontinued product and they are few and far between in terms of availability so it is hard to judge.
Amazon US has a few NEW going for $3199 which would be closer to £2400.

If I had the £££ I'd give you an offer, but I'm not in the market for a new board at the moment.

Hej Heatman!

I got 20kSEK for mine two months ago, mint condition incl original softcase 88.
(20kSEK = approx 1.700 GBP today.)
But I got mine new, at a very very good price. :)

A pitty you are struggling with your Stage 2. I used to own a Yamaha MOX before I bought my stage, and my view is that MOTIF is way more complex (deep menus etc...) than the Stage.

Agreed, I have always thought Yamaha gear sounded great but the interface was user-hostile.

I think once you grasp the concept of the Nord architecture, you will find it is actually much simpler than most keyboards on the market. In any technical endeavor, the details can be overwhelming until the overall concept is understood. When that happens, all of the details will fall into place.

I struggled at first as well. After about 2 hours with the manual while playing with the keyboard, the lights turned on and now I find it quite intuitive. Give it some time and effort and I think you will come to lover your NS2.
