Would anyone have a good patch for Green Onions on the Electro 5D?
Closest I've found (from factory patches) is 1:7 - Jazzy Click B ...

Re: Green Onions
Ive used just a simple hammond slow rotary with 3 drawbars all the way on: 16, 5 1/3, 8...and then 4 halfway. the rest off.

Re: Green Onions
Consensus seems to be 888800000 or 688600000. (Drawbar settings.)

Re: Green Onions
In 1999 I rented my B3 to Booker T. He closed the show with Green Onions. I took note that the drawbar settings were 888800000 and all four sets of drawbars were the same. Percussion was off as well as vibrato. Green Onions sounds more authentic to me with Leslie motors off.

Re: Green Onions
Been trying to play this for years on various clones but it never quite sounded right. I've now got the NE5D-61 and I think this sounds pretty close.
1. The Intro, or lets call it the Chorus is 888600000
2. The Verse is different, its 888080000, this adds that whistle that cuts through.
3. The Leslie has to be on Slow BUT it has to be Stopped and here's why. With the Leslie on Slow and Stopped, hold the first three note chord with the drawbars set at the Intro setting. Now double toggle the Stop Mode button and depending on where you stop, the tone will change (just like the real thing!). Tweak this until you get the Green Onions sound! Remember to save it
Good Luck !

Here's a fun video of Paul Schaffer discussing his Letterman gear. Around 03:30 into the video he talks a bit about the Booker T setting he uses. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9M7axjRISVE
