Is there a quick way to swap the A & B settings?

Postby jdahms » 19 Aug 2016, 19:58

I have an NS2 and a midi controller keyboard. I use Dual KB for all my patches. I want to swap the physical position of my Nord and Midi controller on my keyboard stand (moving the midi controller above the Nord instead of below). But I want all my sound that used to be on the top keyboard to remain on top. This would involve swapping the A&B settings on all of my patches. I haven't found any easy way to do that either on the keyboard or using Nord Sound Manager. And I have a lot (80+) of custom patches. Can anyone help?

Great question. I know there is a way to copy slot settings from one slot to the other but I think you would then have both slots with the same settings not exchanging them. Consquently you would loose the original setting on the target slot.

I also do not believe there is a way to define in dual mode that you want to use slot A as your external keyboard instead of slot B. I wonder if this enhancement request had every been made.

I don't know if there is a way besides dual keyboard mode to define which instruments or slots you want to activate on your local keyboard. If there was, then I guess you could change the channels for incoming channels to use only Slot A. This you can do but alas outside of dual keyboard mode, your local keyboard will still play everything. Maybe I'm missing something.

It would also be nice to have Nord Sound manager to be able to move program parameters around if the NS2 cannot be enhanced to this functionality. Let's see if any of the more experienced people out there have some ideas.

Yes, that thread looks like it will work. But it's also a lot of work for 80+ programs. Instead, can't you modify the Receiving Channel for Slot A/B to achieve the same effect without changing any program? I'm not sure if it'll do what you need, but if it does, it's a lot less work.
Thanks,
Tom

I don't think so. Yes, it is a lot of work.
