Using nord drum 3p with ekit -- how to get max velocity

I just picked up a nord drum 3p from Sweetwater. My first foray into the world of nord and loving it. Due to space issues I'm triggering via midi out from a td30. Triggering works fine but I don't know how to set up the nord to deliver maximum velocity hits when not using the built in pads. Anyone have any ideas?

adjust threshold and sensitivity on the Nord.
