NLA1: basic sequencer with Web MIDI API

Postby joseprzmoreno » 30 Jun 2016, 01:21

I finally decided to try something with Javascript and the Web MIDI API (https://www.w3.org/TR/webmidi/) just for fun, a simple sequencer. I put it in Blogger since it is easier to include Javascript here and it lasts forever:

It works well for me with Windows and Google Chrome I think that Web Midi Api is enabled by default in the latest versions of Chrome.
If I have have connected the synth through USB I can see it in the device list after refreshing the web page.
In my case, in the NLA1 I have disabled the general midi channel and I have associated the four slots to channels 1,2,3,4 respectively.

This is a very simple program (for now, just a single pattern with fixed-duration single notes), but I made it in such a way that you can use the arrow keys to move through the boxes and you can even save patterns if you want... The curious thing is that this is a simple web page.
