Ive waited almost 15 years to get my hands on a Nord.
The Nord NE5 73 is a solution to many keyboards;
1) easiest to tweak, even on the fly
2) easy to program, even on the fly
3) able to install almost any universal keyboard patches ie Kurzweil,Roland,Yamaha etc etc saving you buying many of the vintage keys.
4) its light, easy to carry
5) lastly .......ITS THE SOUND!!! awesome Pianos, Eps, B3 and so on
I was brought up with Moog,Rhodes,Korg 30 years ago had many keyboards and modules over the years, still do but Nord takes the Cake!!!
thanks
NORD!

Re: Best Keyboard Ive ever owned!!! :)
I agree. My Korg Triton Extreme has great sounds but the user interface is cumbersome and I keep having problems with the keybed. It is also very heavy but it is over 10 years old and was probably one of the best technologies of the time. I'm still trying to get some sample sounds off of it and on to my Nord. It has a superior spanish guitar sound that I have not yet found available on the Nord. If I ever get it sampled, I will post.

Mort77,
I enjoyed reading your statements because I just feel the same when playing my old Nord Stage Classic and EX.
But please elaborate on 3). This Sample Player, in addition to the extra RAM, might be a reason for me to upgrade to Nord Stage 2. What I am missing most is decent brass and woodwind sounds on my NORD STAGE.

Not sure if you have the 5 octave TE but I still use my Triton Extreme 61 as a top board. It is fairly heavy but most of the current top level workstations are. Motif XF springs to mind.
The piano sound is pretty unusable but it has great strings and pads.
I really like the keybed and it's nicer to play I think than the Kronos 61.

Yep my Korg TE is 61 keys. I put it up for sale because I have too many keyboards but I'm not giving it away. i'm also not shipping it (local pickup only) because I don't think the keybed would survive the trip. I've had to open it up a few times to fix the key contacts that seem to easily come out of place.

I'm thinking whether I should upgrade or not but can't think of a good reason to.
The Yamaha MOXF6 would be a step up in acoustic instrument sounds but the keybed feels cheap.
I would exchange the Triton for a Motif XF6 if it was lighter.

I used to own a Yamaha MOX6, and especially the pianos (grand and upright) are very week compared to Nord. But I miss a few of the other pads and acoustic instruments that sounded really great.
