This is the right place if your topic concerns different Nord Keyboards, you are not sure which one is the right one for you, etc.

Re: For those like me who liked to use One Sustain for 2 key

Dssp is Ok because it is designed to be used with two keyboards (it probably uses 2 distinct switches, so no electrical connection between the 2 cables and so also the keyboards they are connected to)

I would have to say it has to have two distinctive switches since it can be configured as one normally open while other normally closed.

  • Hammond SK2
  • Roland VCombo VR-09

http://www.dssp-pedal.com/

Hi fellahs did you check out the website???
all I care is it safe to use??? ... seems to be used by many pro musicians.
Mr.G and P.Max got me thinkin ,I don't want to wreck my boards and the DSSP pedal is cheap substitute.

some say use 2 sustain pedals, but I like the fact I can use 1 pedal to sustain 2 keyboards... sometimes I have a Rhodes on the Nord and Piano on the Roland
its nice to have one pedal for both( obviously I don't play them simultaneously) but 2 sustains plus a Rotor footswitch is a lil much

I never seen one, but if it has 2 cables, then I would think it has 2 microswitches, specially if they have all those 3 combinations of NO and NC model.
The ideal pedal, however has "90 degree angle" plugs. ;-)
You could add an additional switch and cable to an existing pedal if you manage to find the right switch. That would cost nearly nothing (I know... life is too short).
Or get 2 flat pedals side by side, velcro-ed to a piece of wood or metal. I think that it might be better; you can choose what to press.

You use a female 1/4" Y with 2 1/4" male into both keyboards and no problems?
I'm doing the same and no problems thus far but now a lil concerned I don't want to damage my boards

Great to hear that there have been no problems so far, but really this is not a wise thing to do, or encourage others to do so, specially because we do not know what the circuitry is doing in each instrument.
No manufacturer will encourage anybody to connect an unknown voltage of unknown polarity into a socket that is supposed to deal only with a passive switch.
There are completely safe alternatives and would cost nearly nothing to modify a pedal to have another switch and cable.
Good luck!
