Has anyone tried creating a sampler instrument that consists of impulse samples, and routing that audio out to the individual trigger inputs on the ND2?
In theory this would make a much tighter performance, no? The exs24 in Logic has sample accurate timing, and the ND2 should respond to the audio input instantly, so would this make a tighter performance than MIDI, which can be jittery?
Just curious if anyone has tried this, and how successful the result was. Thanks!

Re: Using impulse samples to sequence ND2 via trigger inputs
Theory sounds good. I know of no one who has tried this, but...how tight do you want things to be? What sample rate are you contemplating? 44.1kHz? 48? 96? If all things were already that tight, someone would be advertising a special plug-in or hardware device which would "loosen" things and make them sound more like a real drummer, who might occasionally want to play in front of or behind the beat. Just sayin'....

Re: Using impulse samples to sequence ND2 via trigger inputs
Hi!
According to the Nord website the inputs can also be triggered by "the outputs of an old drum machine and much more." Seems technically similar to what you propose, i don't know the technical differences, can't hurt to try
Is everything else in your setup free of jitter then? The other thing is that you may need to correct for some latency here and there perhaps..
My fancy MidiClock+, my metronome and even my computer's tempo is going all over the place - as compared to my internal clock that is..
Cheers,
Albert
