Re: Starring: Nord Piano 2
Classically inspired impro always fun, good work
Difficult not to sound like a pastiche (which you don't)
Sounds like you have a heavy touch and you reach the loudest dynamics to fast where the sound becomes slightly metallic.
The velocity response is slightly to light on the nord pianos ?
And gotta be extra careful with the beat (groove, rhythm) thats where many pianists are weak!
To busy with all the notes. )
Great production...

Re: Starring: Nord Piano 2
Very nice Lemon. I like the composition and the performance. All around I like you're command of the instrument and, in particular, your touch and left hand are strong IMHO.
In terms of hardcore feedback, all I have is that some of the accents come across as overly metallic to my ear (same comment as Bluesbaba made previously). Having said that, I think it's because the velocity curve and sample in the Nord don't map correctly to technique developed on an acoustic piano. I've had the same problem, pondered it for quite awhile, and have recently reached this conclusion. It distracts me when I play because it's not the sound I expect. Not sure if you hear what I'm describing, but if you do, I wonder if it goes away when you play an acoustic piano as that's what I would expect based on my experience.

Re: Starring: Nord Piano 2
Thank you. I think I get you. Yes, the Nord has certain limitations. I have a Ni Kontakt version of the Studio Grand 01, which has far less problems with the FF section. The downside is that it doesn't play that well due to latency. At the end of the day there is nothing like the real thing, a real wooden grand.
