I've been offerd an original Nord kybd. First introduced around 2001,I think. The guy selling it has upgraded the OS to 3.0. He says that makes it basically similar to an Electro 2. I'm new to Nord stuff so i'm not sure if I should grab this unit or look for a more recent one.
I can't afford a new one so I'm mainly interested in a used Electro 2 or 3.
Any comments / suggestions on this situation ?
Many thanks
Braden

Re: Original Nord
Hej Ch79431!
It must be of some model? Electro, Lead, Stage ... ?
I think that if you can afford any Electro 3, that gives you so much more than the "1" or 2 series!

NE3HP, NP88, NS2, DPP1, NL2X, NL2X, NLA1, NL4, NE5D, NW2 (Collect Them All?), some classic Rolands, Arturias, a Waldorf, a Kurz, a WONOK3, a pile of guitars, a P-bass, loopers, amps and computers ...

Re: Original Nord
It sounds like an original Electro updated to Electro 2 standards.
I agree with Marlowes. Skip this Electro/Electro 2 as it is very old technology and has limited compatabilty with modern products.
The Electro 3 is a big step up and can use the modern software - specifically the Sound Manager - which easily allows you to load, save and re-arrange your sound samples and pianos. The Electro 2 cannot use this software and has an older, cruder system for handling stuff, and its piano samples are much smaller. So the Electro 2 can't use the Nord Sample library or the main Piano library sounds which all the Electro 3 and 4's can use.
A second-hand Electro 3 would be a far better purchase for you.

Re: Original Nord
No arguments with the above from me. An NE3 would be light years ahead of NE or NE2.
For point of reference, though, an NE which has been updated to OS v3.04 IS an NE2. There only real difference is the paint job.

Thanks for your replies. Marlowes i forgot to mention that it IS an original Nord Electro thats been upgraded to Electro 2 standards.
I would prefer a used electro 3 as you say, but they're hard to find.
Anyway thx again for your comments.......guess i'll keep looking !

Re: Original Nord
I agree that an NE3 is the previous version of NE.
And the NE2 is the NE which has been updated, and the difference between them is the paint
