Just looking ahead to when the warranty runs out on my new C2D and thinking it would be nice to run the cable from the half-moon switch inside the case so it can't snag on anything while I'm handling the keyboard. Has anybody had a look inside one yet to see how much room there might be?
I have to say that while it's handy fpor me having the half-moon finishing in a jack plug so I can use it to control my non-Leslie rotary, it would be nicer in the overall scheme of things if the contacts for the half-moon were part of the connection to the organ, so you didn't need a cable at all.

Re: Has anybody opened up a C2 or C2D?
Plenty of space indeed. If you really wanted to (and trust yourself with a soldering iron) I could solder the cable of the switch directly to the bottom of the mainboard, where the jack for the switch is soldered to the mainboard.

That sounds like a good idea, notwithstanding the issue I have with my non-Leslie rotary. A good excuse to get a new Leslie ...

I will never open up my C2. What if all the digital tonewheels fell out? I bet they are pretty small, and I'll never get them all back in.

Just curious how this endeavour went. I'm thinking about doing the same thing. Is there some kind of grommet you can get so the cable doesn't get worn around the hole you'd drill in the bottom of the keyboard?

Any excuse would do for me, that's true enough, but I'm currently short of cash and short of space, so the other half is not keen right now ...

I duct taped the cable around the bottom and that solves the problem.
