I really like my E3/73 but was very surprised that you cannot do a basic split between piano and organ sounds. I play in a blues band and was wanting to use the B3 sound with a touch of piano, but now I still need another board to do this.
Is there any way to accomplish this on the E3?
It seemed like a no brainer that this would be a feature. Sure makes more sense than splitting between 2 organ sounds!
Are all the Nords like this?
Thanks

Re: Keyboard Split Question
Hi, I think all of what you ask is answered in this thread: nord-electro-forum-f9/splits-t525.html

Re: Keyboard Split Question
Thank you for the info. I am new to this forum and didn't yet take the time to research my probably quite common questions.
The way I read the link, if I want to split piano/organ I need a Nord Stage.
Finally, I wish you could split the "piano" side of the E3 as you can the "organ" side. The reason for me is that when playing a piano, I like to eliminate the really low octaves, and repeat the middle range in the lower end.
I already do this with the organs all the time, since those really low notes drive our bass player nuts, and by being higher range, mellow out the organ sound.

Re: Keyboard Split Question
I imagine the Electro 4 will incorporate the full board splits. Got to improve, or no sales.

Hello Gman,
Welcome to the forum!
IMHO,
I wouldn't expect Nord to develop the Electro series with bi-timbral, or multi-timbral capabilities.
I believe the Electro series is the introductory level, with the Stage 2 being the next step up.
Some of the members have been working on putting together their own split/ samples for the NE3.
What types of splits are you wanting?
Cheers, Hanon

Re: Keyboard Split Question
Guess I'm just used to things like my Yamaha $500 keyboard having that feature, so I thought a $2k one would too.

Re: Keyboard Split Question
i must say i am quite shocked so many are buying an $2k instrument without even audition it or looking up features and options.
how dare one buy a pig in a poke, when it comes to that kind of money?
(this is just my reflection, not a private matter to theGman)

Re: Keyboard Split Question
I understand what you mean. I live somewhat out in the country, about 100+ miles from any kind of music store, and I'm not even sure if they would have Nords. I read up and did see the E3 had a split.
My only point is that, once I saw it had a split feature, I never would have guessed that it had only a partial split. I can't think of any other manufacturer which has a partial split only. As far as I know, this is a unique situation. Live and learn, but I love the sounds and probably would have bought it anyway. I don't want to sound like a whiner too much, just a little! : )
Next time I'll download a manual before time.

Re: Keyboard Split Question
i get your situation theGman.
and i'm glad you still like your keyboard and probably would have bought it anyway! :-)
studying the manual and also checking out some demos and vids on youtube is imo the best way to get to know the product if you haven't the option to visit a music store.
and of course, you can always post questions and search for answers here!
