hi
once again need your experience and opinion! so I'm looking for solution of step sequencer/arppegiator for $500 range. I would like to have a bass synthesizer which can work independently as sequencer/arpeggiator and work also with Nord Wave. what can you say about these instruments and which one is the better deal for me?
Novation Bass Station II http://global.novationmusic.com/hardwar ... station-ii
Novation Mininova http://global.novationmusic.com/hardwar ... s/mininova
Korg microStation http://www.korg.com/microstation (has Grid Sequencing) thanks for the advice Gustavo member111.html
Korg microKorg XL http://www.korg.com/microkorgxl
microKorg http://www.korg.com/microKORG
blofeld waldorf http://www.waldorf-music.info/en/blofeld.html
I also tried to find for online sale of Cirklon thanks for the advice mjbrands member1346.html but did not find, although I suspect that the price of the sequencer goes beyond my budget

Think 3-4x your budget; they're made in rather low numbers and sometimes sell for more 2nd hand than new (because people don't want to way 6-12 months in the waiting queue for the next batch).
Something like a 2nd hand Yamaha MO6 or the newer MM6 might also be an option; it has a sequencer, arpeggiator and adds some sounds your Wave might not be that good at (such as piano sounds).

If you really need a sequencer, then forget the MicroKorgs and the MiniNova they only have a somewhat basic arpegiator and no sequencer, forget the Blofeld module (no midi out), The Bass STation is also pretty limited as a sequencer. If you want sequencing what you need is a workstation. of those you listed only the MicroStation is one. if $999 new is too much for a 61 note workstation, the used market could be an alternative.
If you want to focus on bass, then the Bass Station is probably the beast you want.

Thank you for your answers!
I'm interested how well Novation Bass Station II is compatible with Nord Wave as sequencer/arpeggiator? I suspect but not sure there is no grid sequencing unlike Korg microStation? ok what else could be the advantages and disadvantages and what exactly it is limited as sequencer/arpeggiator?

is MicroStation is good as a bass synth or only one advantage for my case is grade sequencing?
I need this info for further research to make the right choice

Well how good the microstation can do Bass is up to you. I'd recommend you see a ton of review videos and to actually try it out in person (but do bring with you the headphones you normally use).
Most sequencers that can output midi data will be compatible with the NW. I do not know how the Bass Station's sequencer works, but probably a look around the specifications page could help.

You'll want to check the Bass Station II can actually send arpeggiator data out the MIDI port - I know some synths that cannot do this. Of course, if you just want to use it for a bass line, than that isn't really an issue.
Edit: I asked someone from Novation and he said the Bass Station 2 can send out arpeggiator data via MIDI, which is good news. However, you cannot trigger those arpeggios via MIDI, only from the local keyboard (bit strange, maybe we misunderstood each other). Anyway, you can latch the keyboard so pressing a key once is enough to start an arpeggio.
I wasn't able to find the manual myself, but luckely the guy had the link for me: http://uk.novationmusic.com/support/pro ... Station+II

Re: sequencer/arpeggiator for nord wave
hi, I use this for my nord wave http://gregwaltzer.com/egw/equipment/map1.html as the arpeggiator MAM MAP1 of an old midi arpeggiator that I found from a friend who did not use it more for a long time. it works great and can be connected to any keyboard and even more keyboards simultaneously. sorry for my english, I'm Italian.
