Small church organ sounds on EX88

Post by Nick1962 »

Hi - I'm a Nord Newbie & want to be able to recreate a light 'chamber' organ type sound with an EX88. Could I expand my available sounds generally by playing the Nord through a laptop with sound samples in 3rd party software like Reason and if so any advice about how that might be done would be welcome. Probably should have stumped up the extra £1000 for a Stage2 but I didn't realise the difference between the two keyboards! Thanks in advance! Nick

Hello Nick,
Welcome to the forum.
Long before the Hammond tonewheel organs were used for Jazz, Blues, and Rock, they were most commonly found in churches.
With a little work, you can achieve most of the sounds desirable for hymns and great organ works by using the B3 organ model of your Nord Stage Ex.

The following sites have very informative information about using the drawbars "Nord Drawbuttons" to get what you want.

And of course the now famous "221 pipe organ stops translated for the Hammond organ" provided in pdf format.
