Nord User Forum

I've got a Nord Stage 2 that's about 6 months old. When I download samples of this board they are red on the sound manager and the readout says they are incompatible. Am I wrong or are the downloads wrong (I've not downloaded lots, but all the ones I have downloaded don't work). I'm frankly disappointed, there are some great sounds here, but I can't use them.... Any help gratefully received!

No worries guys - I guess I have just learned a lot about my Nord! I went on the main site, then downloaded the new OS and the new Sound Manager and everything seems fine! Keep up the good work, and thanks for being patient - I'm learning! This is the first time I have tried to do this - so far I've just been playing and tinkering with the sounds...

Thats what I thought, new OS and Sound Manager should do it. Glad it works now & Ill throw in a belated "Welcome to the forums"

Yes, certainly welcome. The OS revisions make things a little confusing, at some point between 1.40 and 1.60 I believe they changed the format of the files that we share, so those that were made and exported from 1.60 weren't working on your NS2 until you upgraded. All things considered I think they did a good job with backwards compatibility but it can be confusing until you realize where you need to be. And as we've shown with the chorus-y reverb bug, not all OS upgrades are perfect.
