OK, this is a cross-post from keyboard corner, but I wanted to share with you too!
I just landed a gig with a Milwaukee synth-pop band who's doing a reunion show this coming September. The stuff is pretty easy and most of the keyboard parts sound very Roland-y.
So for fun I backed up all my current Nord Stage 2 programs into separate bundles (great new feature of their sound manager) and deleted all programs and samples from the board. Then I loaded JP-4 and JX-3P samples from Nord's library and began programming for these tunes using only Nord's oscillator and their Roland samples.
OK, not the toughest sound design task, but just my speed. And you know what? I'm having one helluva fun time doing it! The immediacy of the Nord is fantastic. No menus!
I also have a Prophet 08PE on order, which I'll mostly likely be using instead of or with the Nord.
Life is good right now!

Re: My Nord makes me feel adventurous!
two days ago I had to play with a band on the sea.
the stage was bit far from the main street , lot to walk , umidity , not a great PA , this gig was full of good reason NOT to carry my NS2 and go with a 61 master and my fantom xr rack...
I had to do some patches from the scratch....and I decided to use the editor to do it quickly.....
after 3 years of NS ex and NS 2.......my god.....was like to be in a nightmare...... things that I'd to in 4 seconds on nord took AGES.....even with the editor....
cannot go back....
and you're right....nord is one of the few keyboards you start to program and you say......."happy about that....
cheers
Fab

@fabiokey: Thanks for sharing!
@Niarf: This is a reunion show for a band that hasn't played in over 25 years. I was not an original member, but I was an original fan.
The vocals remind me of X (male/female); the synths, guitars and rhythms remind me of early Cure and Psychedelic Furs; and then throw in a dash of Joy Division for mood.
