Everything about the Nord Piano and the new Nord Piano 2.

new piano...?

Postby JacksonP » 29 May 2012, 20:34

Hi,

I just checked that year has passed since Bright Grd came out. We have seen new NP2 but not updates to piano library. People are asking again and again for new Rhodes. IMO Clavia should take seriously these wishes and finaly give us something. (I must say I don't need any weird sampleset from some rare synth from 60s).

Hi Dave, my main thing was to say that I've bought my Clavia products with the idea that they will give us something to download once in a while. This is what makes them different to many other companies. With Clavia, you'll have to put quite a lot of money to the products, which are quite simple in itself, but this freely downloadable library is their major thing. I agree with many others here, that e-piano library is still quite high quality, but same time it outdated. They should make more variety in sounds and sizes too. I might sometimes want just have a XL-Rhodes in my Piano for some special gig. This been said, I would really welcome too a new additions in ac.piano (and especially Grand section). All those current grands (D, Bosie, Bright) are good quality, but still all them has some limits or unwanted qualities. Personally I use Bright grand most of the time, it cuts through very well and comes out bright, but I don't like its pianissimo sound.

So now the year has passed and no real candies for piano players. Hopefully Clavia hasn't forgot us. BTW I am also a synth enthusiast, but to be honest, I don't use Clavia products for that...

A Kawai grand would be interesting. ;)

That, and some new large sized EPs (Rhodes/Wurlitzer/Pianet).

You mean, a really rich Shigeru EX, with lots of dynamics?

A new grand piano would be hugely welcomed, as would an XL fully mapped Studio Grand 2 C7 sample. I'm still a HUGE fan of that sample in almost all situations. A new EP would also be welcomed. I'm a little surprised Clavia hasn't given us any new additions to the NPL, although, with all the products launched in the last 18 months, no wonder!

June 21st is the end of spring in the northern hemisphere, right? So the White Upright should be coming out very soon.
