EV ZXA1 hiss

Postby Nick1962 » 09 Apr 2012, 11:57

Hi - there was a thread running at the end of last year about hiss on EV ZXA1 speakers. Just wondered if there were any updates on this as I'm in the market for a gig amp (small venues accomp unamplified but v high quality violin). Any other suggestions welcome in that sort of price-band. Thanks - Nick

You might want to consider renting from your local store to test what they have.
Even though the Qsc & Zxa1 are popular their are other brands marketing similar products.
Tapco, JBL, MACKIE, PEAVEY, etc. One thing I like about the Qsc is the ergonomics.
It's easy to move and carry.

Thanks - my main reason for looking at the EV is that several posts on various forums have identified it as being good for small-scale acoustic so in theory it should be reasonably quiet. I want to record from it though so am a bit concerned about interference. Thanks for your suggestion though.

I purchased a ZXA1 in may 2012 & have not experienced any hiss or
Issues pertaining to hiss. This is a very clean speaker. Relatively flat &
even with a modest volume output.
