I have a really simple question. Can you transfer sounds from a outside computer into this model????

Yes.
All the pianos and samples except the NS3 sounds can be downloaded to the NE5.

First you can download Nord-provided sounds from the Nord web site by going to http://www.nordkeyboards.com/ and then clicking on "Sound Libraries". For your NE5, you can download from the "Nord Piano Library" and the "Nord Sample Library 2.0".

Second you install the Nord Sound Manager on your computer.

Third can transfer the sounds you downloaded from your computer to your Nord Electro 5 by connecting your Nord to your computer via a USB cable, and using the Nord Sound Manager software.

Be aware that there are separate memory banks in your Nord Electro 5 for piano sounds and samples. You need to ask your Nord Sound Manager to transfer a piano sound or sample (NSMP file) to the appropriate memory bank on your Nord Electro 5.

Yes. You can turn any WAV file into a Nord Sample playable by the Electro 5 using the Nord Sample Editor.

You have to record whatever sound/instrument/VST it is to WAV first.
