Yesterday when I was rehearsing with my band I noticed that my "midrange G#" sounded with full velocity even when playing soft..
I opened it up but didn't find any visible mechanical failures.
After this I started it up and I noticed that it was better but still not good so I opened it again and cleaned it from dust and now it works perfectly.
Why I'm posting this is because if you get this problem it probably has to do with dust, obviously the velocity sensors are weak to dust.
If someone out there has the same problem I hope this will help.

Re: Nord Stage velocity error
Hi, thanks man! I have this problem with a midrange C-key. I'll open it tomorrow to check it.

Re: Nord Stage velocity error
I have this exact same problem with my electro 3. Are there instructions or a guide somewhere on how to open it up and clean the contacts if this happens?

Re: Nord Stage velocity error
Just had this exact issue on my new Stage 2, which took me over an hour to sort out. Turned out to be a tiny hair that had found its way onto one contact, meaning I either got velocity values of 127 or about 30, with nothing between. Luckily I'd had the exact same issue on various Fatar keyboards before, so knew exactly what to do (remove lid, unscrew and remove keybed, remove all screws and metal brackets on offending strip, remove rubber strip, clean strip on both sides with tweezers and air (not solvents / alchohol), reassemble). I spoke to a Nord contact who assured me that this would not invalidate my warranty, as long as I didn't do any further damage.
Because it's happened to me now about 4-5 times when using Nord & Fatar keyboards (perhaps I should dust more!?) I know that this is a significant issue for the Fatar design of rubber pads. On a keyboard as expensive as the Nord Stage 2 it would be good if Nord/Fatar had put some thought into a way of internally dust proofing the rubber contact strip. I know it's only a matter of time before it happens to me again.
I know Nord supply a dust cover with the Nord Stage 2, but this is not an ideal solution, or one that has prevented the issue, for me at least.
