Waddaya want if Nord Wave 2 comes out??

Postby NemoSynth » 10 Sep 2013, 13:54

If Clavia will make Nord Wave 2, then I hope they'll include aftertouch as the morph source.

Anyone for such requests to the maker??

I agree. Since they've got tons of sample library the onboard memory should be at least 500MB, even 1GB, but perhaps that'll make the booting time too long like KORG KRONOS, so may be big enough for us to enjoy the samples but not too big for quick booting.

Current 180MB plus is nowadays far too small anyway.

I also definitively would like to see unison mode, and programmable arpeggiator as well.
Expanding to 4 Slot architecture would be fun to program complex sounds with samples modulated with FM/PM etc.
USB MIDI to play software synths would be good too.
Furthermore, switching programs should be lightning fast. Current version has a slight time lag that can be critical at live performance.

Although I don't think I'd want one, I think the world surely needs a proper sample playing synth. I mean one with the ability to do traditional instrument samples in Akai fashion, but extendible to multi layer or as simple as single wave-tables together with full synth functions.
In Wales, no one will hear you scream.

Hi,

Thanks for your opinion and sorry for the late reply.

About a proper sampling synth, how about Korg Kronos?? What do you think of it??

That's the only thing I can think of in these days of software samplers flourishing all around us.

Cheers,

Hello.

All of the above, and a flawless Pitch Stick.

I'm looking forward to an easy to use sample playing va synth for several years now. A synth like the wave with fast program change, easy to create your own sounds, easy to upload and use your created samples, the possibility to use your own samples to make new sounds with the synth, the possibility to give your programms a name, the possibility to use seperate live performance preset buttonlist besides other presets, layer sounds, split function, velocity, aftertouch, lots of memory and the possibility to expand memory.

Although I haven't been near one, I hear the Kronos has a long boot and load time as the samples have to be loaded into a "working" memory for use. If I was looking for a workstation synth, the Kronos would be high on the list. I prefer separate specialist instruments where possible.

True, I have Kronos and at the default the loading time was 2 minutes and 10 seconds. Now with optional sample libraries being purchased, it's over three minutes!! It's a powerful synth but this loading time is longer than my PC. This isn't handy at all.

Hallo everybody,
does anybody knows if Calvia has finally stop the Nord Wave Productline... I´m gone mad in deciding to wait for a WaveEX / Wave 2 or by a LEAD 4,or just take one of the last Waves... Is the idea of connecting the Samplelibrary with a Synth really dead?
Just my mind on a free friday...
Cheers
