Hi there,
I've bought a new Nord Wave last week and I'm using one of it's banks to create sounds which I use with both my Stage EX and Wave. For instance, Stage's 1:1's grand piano program is accompanied by Wave's 8:1's windwoods.
However, after I adjusted some settings in the MIDI and External Sections, I can't seem to use the program change function. MIDI cables are correct for I can use both of the keyboards as a slave for the other one. In both menus, Prgm Change is set to Send&Receive. Even when I turn the Program Dial Knob, the MIDI transfer action light turns red for a moment, but nothing happens. It did a few days ago. I just can't seem to find the problem.
What am I doing wrong?
Pim

Re: Program Change issue Stage-Wave
Do you have a MIDI interface for you PC or Mac? The easiest way to troubleshoot this (I think) would probably to connect your Wave's MIDI out to that interface and use a small piece of software (MidiOx on Windows, MIDI Monitor on Mac) to show incoming MIDI data. Now change the program on the Wave and you should see in MidiOx/MIDI Monitor on which channel the Wave expects the program change (because it sends it out on the same channel, if you've set it to Send&Receive).
Now do the same with the Stage (have it send a program change via the remote section) and see if the channel used matches the data the Wave is expecting. Provided you have the utility (MidiOx/MIDI Monitor) installed and a MIDI interface to hand, testing this will probably take less than a minute.
Btw. are you sure that Wave actually works correctly?

Thanks! It somehow managed to work, so I won't be changing the settings anymore, haha. Thanks a lot.

Well, if you happen to have some spare time somewhere, you might still want to figure this out. What if you run into this on a gig or something?
If you make a backup of the Stage EX/Wave before messing around with the settings, it is easy to restore those (since the settings are stored in the backup too).
Anyway, good to hear it is working now.

Re: Program Change issue Stage-Wave
I'll do that, thanks again!
I ran into another problem though. I usually play Wave's panel B on Stage's panel B, and I can split it's sound via Extern Section on the Stage.
However, I can't split the sound in panel A, which is strange. It somehow maps it all over the keyboard..
