Hey,
I'm trying to pitch map samples in the editor but I can't seem to figure something out - and that is, how do I change the pitch of a sample, regardless of what key it is assigned? How come when I assign the root key to a sample, it's not playing the raw sample pitch?
I'M NOT, looking to turn pitch scaling off. Known as 'Play Mode' in the editor. I know how to do that.
Essentially, how do I get D1 to be the raw sample, starting point? Say I have something tuned to C4, and I want to play that C4 sample at C1, AS c4 - no re-pitching.
I have multiple spoken word samples, that I want to play on the keyboard pitched, but I want to choose where their raw sample starting pitch points start. for example, having 4 vocal samples layed out like this.
G1 Hello (Raw sample pitch)
G#1 Hello (pitched)
A1 Hello (pitched)
A#1 Hello (pitched)
B1 Hello (pitched)
C2 Goodbye (Raw sample pitch)
C#2 Goodbye (pitched)
D2 Goodbye (pitched)
D#2 Goodbye (pitched)
and so on. It doesn't work, they are all low pitched.
*edit*
I guess what I'm asking is, why isn't the 'root key' associated with placing the raw sample pitch?
*edit*
Is the NSE auto-pitch mapping by auto-detecting the tone/pitch of the sample? I'm so confused.
*edit*
I am not getting the result that the manual describes:
