Nord Wave 2

Postby electrolegs » 31 Jul 2011, 08:35

Is there any info if this is in development? I've been holding off for a while now because of all the rumours going around it might be on the cards.. but unsure if I should hold off. Most the issues revolve around the lack of user memory. Anyone care to comment or speculate? Cheers.

Hi Electrolegs and welcome to the forum.
I understand how you feel. It can always be a tough decision. I'm afraid there is no official info on this, and you never know what Nord is up to.So I don't really know how to advice you.

Best regards
Cbas

I am waiting for it too: I like the Wave's features (sample playback,...) but I can't buy it because it has NOT the BASIC possibility of splitting the keyboard (even my cheap yamaha psr had it). So I wish Clavia will implement this characteristic in the next Wave.

You'd think the processor in the Wave is capable enough to implement a keyboard split. If that is the case (and I think it is), they could theoretically implement a keyboard split feature on the current hardware with a software upgrade.

Personally, I think it was a conscious decision on their part not to implement a keyboard split, not a limitation of the hardware. If the Wave had more slots than the two it currently has, a keyboard split might make more sense.

Hi guys

Just thought I would let you know that the nord wave does effectively allow a keyboard split feature. You can morph between the slot A sound and the slot B sound in three ways, by using the mod wheel, using velocity, and using the keyboard.

If you use the keyboard you can have one sound in the lower register which morphs into another sound in the higher register. In the middel of the keyboard you get both sounds mixed. I appreciate this isn't a defined split, but the effect sounds great in my opinion when used with classic combos such as string bass and piano.
