Hi
I have a strange MIDI-problem with my Nordwave, which is a bit difficult to describe: I cant get my nordwave to work properly with a sequencer like cubase or studio one, when both slots are activated. This is also very strange, because the same setup with my NordStage 2 works perfectly.
In detail:
I want to play both slots A and B of the nordwave for example on Channel 1, not on separate channels. In Cubase I have setup a Midichannel with the output to the Wave on channel 1.
Midi Setup on the NordWave (Operating System is 2.02):
Local: "Off"
Midi-channel: "1"
Midi Ctr A: "1"
Midi Ctr B: "1"
MIDI Ctrl Change Mode: Send&Receive
Now when I play a patch (with both slots activated) everything is ok, I can hear the Sound correctly and I can record. But when I want to tweak some controls like Freq, the display does NOT show the parameters, like it is in "local-on-Mode"!
Furthermore i can only tweak parameters of Slot A, Slot B is frozen - no possibility to edit it. I don't think that this should be normal behaviour. This problem also remains with Slot A and B in Bi-timbral mode on different channels.
After trying out all possible combinations of Midi-Setup and reading the manual all over again, I found out that according to the manual (page 60), there should be an option in the MidiMenu to set MIDI Ctrl A and MIDI Ctrl B to "OFF". But this option does NOT show up in my Nordwave. Could this be the reason for all that?
It would be great if anyone could help me out with this.
Thanks
Arthur

Re: Midi-Problem with SlotA and SlotB - please help!
Since it works fine with the NS2, I would check all of the midi settings in your software and see if there are any differences. This is probably just some sort of implementation difference between the way the DAWs are sending midi data and the way the NS2 sends it. Hope you find a solution to this.

Hi DJKeys,
thank you for the reply. The NordSupport told me to setup the channel in the sequenzer to "all", this solved the problem with the slots!
But I am still confused, that as soon as I switch to "local off" the Nordwave does not show the parameters anymore in the display. Is this the same with yours or just a problem with my nordwave?

Re: Midi-Problem with SlotA and SlotB
If I change Local control to Off, all of my other midi parameters are there. Is this what you mean?
I would suggest just leaving it on, because it should still respond to the sequencer. It just means that if you hit a key on the Wave, a sound will be triggered, so it should not make a difference.
